Head of strategic marketing, BNP Paribas Asset Management
Pieter Oyens joined BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM – France) in January 2017 as head of strategic marketing. Prior to relocating to France, he was head of investment specialists for Asia at BNP Paribas Asset Management based in Hong Kong.
Pieter started his career at ABN AMRO Asset Management in the Netherlands where he fulfilled various roles focusing on the development and marketing of investment products. He came to Asia for ABN AMRO in 2003 as ABN AMRO’s head of product management Asia Pacific.
In this role he oversaw the development of mutual funds, structured products and alternative investments. In 2006 he moved to the investment banking side of ABN AMRO (Royal Bank of Scotland after the takeover) heading up the marketing and structuring of exotic derivatives linked to hedge funds, mutual funds and managed accounts covering the Asia Pacific region. Later in 2017 he became managing director responsible for business development globally outside Asia ex Japan for Harvest Global Investments. Harvest Global Investments is a fully owned subsidiary of one of the largest asset management firms in mainland China.
Mr. Oyens received a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of Leiden, Netherlands. He is also a CFA charterholder.
