The official blog of BNP Paribas Asset Management

About Investors’ Corner

A message from the launch pad of our new, improved blog

Here, at the launch of Investors’ Corner, BNP Paribas Asset Management’s “official blog” (even if that is what they call an oxymoron), we professional investors observe events in financial markets and reflect, once again, on some of the home truths of our profession, namely:

–      The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

–      Trees don’t grow to the sky.

–      “When my information changes, I alter my conclusions. What do you do sir?” (I know this is starting to look like a list of quotes from Keynes, but I was really thinking about what a fly on the wall of the ECB in Frankfurt might be hearing this morning).

–      ‘Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose’, as we say in Paris.

The aim of this blog is to provide a forum for investment professionals from across the spectrum of BNP Paribas Asset Management teams to share their analyses or wrestle with the strategic themes and issues confronting us as asset managers. The opinions expressed in Investors’ Corner are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the opinions, policies or official positions of BNP Paribas Asset Management. We welcome comment and constructive debate.

Our ambition is that this blog should be a living thing, a forum for exchanging views, benefiting from the proximity the world wide web offers us and reflecting the diversity and richness of our investment teams. To live well our blog needs to work, rest and play. So be aware – even if we don’t always wear a tie, it doesn’t mean we are not serious, dedicated investment professionals (quite the contrary….).

Our blog will reflect the realities of us being an asset manager investing in asset markets across the globe and plugged into the digital world. We are reaching out with our two cents-worth. We trust Investors’ Corner will contribute to the digital debate.

Good luck to this blog and all who blog here!
